Sandra Trevino

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Sandra is a bilingual Connecticut Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Science in Social Work (M.S.S.W) from the University of Texas Pan American. In 2003, Sandra relocated to Connecticut from Texas to specialize in mental health disorders at the Yale Child Study Center. After completing a two year post graduate training program, Sandra remained at the Yale Child Study Center as an Instructor of Social Work. During her time there, she engaged and treated individuals and families and directed a therapeutic after-school school program in under-served communities of New Haven.

Sandra has experience in outpatient as well as in-home settings and continues to work with culturally diverse clients from all walks of life, providing both brief and long-term interventions. Sandra has maintained a private practice for over 10 years and describes her theoretical orientation as eclectic; however, she is influenced by Freud’s Psychodynamic Theory, Gestalt Theory, Interpersonal Theory, Attachment Theory, and Person-Centered Theory.

Furthermore, Sandra is fluent in Spanish and understands the cultures and adversities the Latino population faces within our local communities, which is made up of individuals from all regions of Central and South America. Sandra feels a personal connection to the values of integrity, person-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion. Sandra’s specialization also includes working with those on the autism spectrum disorder. She works with children 10 and older and adults of all ages.

Sandra meets with clients in person at our New Haven, CT location and via telehealth.
