Licensed Clinical Social WorkerLisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including: mental health agencies, public schools and private practice. Lisa graduated with a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2000 from the University of Connecticut and has been licensed in the state of CT since 2005.
Lisa approaches therapy holistically and collaboratively to guide clients in understanding the nervous system and helping clients understand their symptoms and reactions. Lisa focuses on a “bottom up” and “top down” approach to counseling; supporting clients with different somatic-based regulation tools including mindfulness, breathing, and grounding approaches that reduce anxiety over time.
Lisa provides a safe and comfortable setting and utilizes a trauma- informed approach to support clients with complex trauma, stress, grief, anxiety, depression, negative thoughts, life transitions, relationship challenges, co-dependency and other life challenges. Lisa is LGBTQ+ affirming and supportive of all identities and relationships and is passionate about empowering clients to incorporate their strengths and self-compassion in order to increase well-being and peace in their lives.
Lisa is a Certified Professional Recovery Coach, and has certifications and training in Foundations of Polyvagal Informed Clinical Practice, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Trauma Informed Clinical Practice from New York University. Lisa is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
